Easter Sunday may be one of the first holidays families have been able to get back together since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Whether you’re packing up the car to take your Easter fun to the park, or simply hiding eggs in the backyard – we have all the tips you need to host the perfect Easter Sunday Picnic!

Set up an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

The classic Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is fun for all ages! Pick up a few packages of the colorful plastic eggs that are perfect for hiding goodies inside. Get creative with what you choose to put inside the eggs! Candy is always a classic. Make the hunt more challenging with each egg holding a clue inside that shares the location of the big, final prize. If adults are playing, maybe you choose to hide money inside to make the game a little more competitive. Whatever you decide, the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is a great activity to plan that can incorporate the whole family.

Create Your Own Colorful Marshmallow Treats (#throwback)

Last year, we published a blog with creative ideas to switch up your traditional Easter Sunday holiday. (Because let’s face it, 2020 was FAR from traditional!)  One of the ideas sparked so much interest, we had to include it again! If you’re pressed for time and materials for traditional Easter Egg dying, pick up a pack of marshmallows and food coloring. Create cups of your dye mixture with water and food coloring. You only need to dip your marshmallows into the dye mixture for a few seconds (you can use a fork, toothpicks, or your hands) and then let them dry on a paper towel. Try double dipping or dipping the ends in two different colors for a neat design!

Add Fun Bunny-Themed Dishes to Your Menu

Add a little hop to your menu with some bunny-themed dishes! One of our favorite recipes to make is Bunny Tails. Bunny Tails consist of marshmallows, white chocolate, and coconut while only taking about 10 minutes to make. Check out the full recipe from Two Peas & Their Pod. You can even use the dyed marshmallows treats you created above to make each Bunny Tail a different color!

Pick Out Pastel Colored Decorations for an Easter Sunday Theme

If you love pastel colors, now is the time to bring them out! Pull out your favorite table cloths, placements, dinnerware and glassware comprised of soft, light purples, pinks, yellows, blues, and pinks. You’ll create a beautiful Easter-themed atmosphere that also celebrates the beauty of the Spring season!

From our family to yours, Sleepovers & Co. wishes you a fun and memorable Easter holiday! We hope you get to see your family safely and celebrate holidays as you wish. Happy Easter Sunday!
